The Life in a Day: Eric Nguyen
The Life in a Day is a monthly video series designed as a creative challenge for local skaters to produce a video in the span of 24 hours. The ultimate goal is to illustrate an honest portrait of the skater, to capture how they skate, how they think, how they interpret public space and architecture. This month's episode focuses on local skater Eric Nguyen.

Eric Nguyen is a dude known for being laid back and relaxed yet ready to charge and huck it at any moment. Eric, also referred to as “Chi” by all the BC Surf and Sport homies, is essentially a down right cool ass muhfucker and this is what happens when you kick it in the streets with him for a day! - Finale

The Life In A Day: Jovi Bathemess (Episode 2) by Adam Terry
Life in a Day is a monthly video series designed as a creative challenge for local skaters to produce video in the span of one day. The ultimate goal is to illustrate an honest portrait of the skater, to capture how they skate, how they think, how they interpret public space and architecture.
“The Life In A Day” series is a perfect challenge for a skater like Jovi Bathemess. He is a skateboard lover to the core. He manages BC Surf and Sport, skates his ass off, films and makes skate videos, and is always taking amazing skate photos. His unique trick repertoire, creative use of spots, and passion for the artistry within skateboard culture, allow him to thrive in a “one-day” video concept like this.
We started at the shop, hooked up with the homies, bombed some hills, hit some favorite spots, and then mobbed through the city searching for new possibilities. This is an average Sunday for Jovi...

Eric Nguyen: Heelflip - SLC, UT
"Last June, I went out shooting with Eric for the first time. Actually, I think it was the first time we had even met. We found this nice gap Downtown and Eric got right to it, throwing switch heelflips. After a handful of tries, he landed on one and slid out, dislocating his shoulder in the process. We ended up at an urgent care to get it set. Seven months later, we found ourselves at another gap, just blocks from the first. This time he had more favorable results, landing not one, but two heelflips over the rail. Thanks for that second heelflip, Eric."

Garrison Conklin: Ollie From Bump to Flat - SLC, UT
"The ollie is the foundation of almost every trick on a skateboard. When you are just learning to skate, you practice ollie-ing up curbs, over soda cans, a deck on its side, a manhole cover, off a picnic table and down stairs. You are always trying to go higher, longer, faster—and it feels amazing. Some people just have unbelievable power and finesse in their ollies. Garrison is one of those guys. I would have been happy with an ollie from curb cut to curb cut here, but Garrison saw the challenge to clear the whole driveway to the flat on the other side, and went for it. I’m sure it felt just as great as the first time he ollied up a curb."
Also make sure to check out Garrison's blog for some amazing photos here.
