Behind the Photo: Forrest Huber Slug Mag Photo Feature Issue 325 - January 2016

Forrest Huber recently had a great photo feature in the January Issue of SLUG Magazine. Very reminiscent of an old Kerry Getz or Ricky Oyola Ollie photo from the 90's/early 2000's. While the spots don't always change, the eyes in which they are viewed through do. As a result of Weston's vision, and Forrest skating, this photo came together perfectly. This was just the tail end of an amazing day skating downtown. Here's a collection of other photographs that Weston Colton shot throughout the day.

Forrest Huber: Ollie over the rail down both sets

Glenn Calvert: BS Smith

The Life in a Day: Eric Nguyen

The Life in a Day is a monthly video series designed as a creative challenge for local skaters to produce a video in the span of 24 hours. The ultimate goal is to illustrate an honest portrait of the skater, to capture how they skate, how they think, how they interpret public space and architecture. This month's episode focuses on local skater Eric Nguyen.

Photo: Garrison Conklin

Eric Nguyen is a dude known for being laid back and relaxed yet ready to charge and huck it at any moment. Eric, also referred to as “Chi” by all the BC Surf and Sport homies, is essentially a down right cool ass muhfucker and this is what happens when you kick it in the streets with him for a day! - Finale

"We met up at Caputo's Deli, pushed around Pioneer Park and then went mobbing through the city. No real plans. You see, when skating with Garrison shit just happens. He skates anything. He skates raw, fast and spontaneously. He's known for skating gritty spots and with a lot of power. Check out episode 4 as Gary goes on a rampage through the city!" - Finale Grand

Garrison Conklin: Ollie From Bump to Flat - SLC, UT

"The ollie is the foundation of almost every trick on a skateboard. When you are just learning to skate, you practice ollie-ing up curbs, over soda cans, a deck on its side, a manhole cover, off a picnic table and down stairs. You are always trying to go higher, longer, faster—and it feels amazing. Some people just have unbelievable power and finesse in their ollies. Garrison is one of those guys. I would have been happy with an ollie from curb cut to curb cut here, but Garrison saw the challenge to clear the whole driveway to the flat on the other side, and went for it. I’m sure it felt just as great as the first time he ollied up a curb."

Also make sure to check out Garrison's blog for some amazing photos here.

Jimmy Lannon and Forrest Huber Skate Salt Lake City - A to B

Jimmy Lannon and Mike Atwood recently made it to Salt Lake City to film some stuff for Coalatree, and an A to B video for the Ride Channel. They also got Forrest Huber into the mix with some really cool clips for this A to B. This video captures skating around Salt Lake City perfectly; cruising around, keeping it spontaneous, and skating whatever comes your way. Enjoy!
